Dinner and a Movie

Today was totally awesome! I only had one class at 9AM and then i came home and took a 4 hour nap. It was great! Around 2PM I awoke and decided to watch an episode of The L Word. It was the episode in which Dana dies and the girls go to the waterfalls to spread her ashes. I love that show so much! Then I had to drive in to town to pick my mom up. When we got home, the check from my dad was in the mail. I was so excited to actually have money that i took my mom out for dinner at The Porter House. While there, I applied for a hostess job. I really hope I get it. I could really use the extra cash. Dinner was amazing....from the Shrimp Tempura appetizer all the wayto the brownie a la mode. We came home and settled in to watch a movie together. With Ginger on mom's lap and Zoey on the couch next to me, we were all happy. We watched Super 8 and to my surprise, it was actually pretty good. Right now, I am up in my room getting ready for bed after a nice, soothing, hot shower. I hope all is well with the world tonight. And if there maybe worries for anyone, know that you are in my prayers tonight. I am happy and I hope all of you can feel like this some day soon.

Movement Comes Back to Me

Only three days since my fall and I can now move my arm almost 100%. I can put my own hair in a ponytail, open my own jar of spaghetti sauce and best of all, I can type with both hands! I still have pain when i put weight on my arm, but in a few days that should be all gone too. I can only imagine how much worse this would be is I had actually broken my arm. I would have a cast (probably orange because that is my favorite color) and it wouldn't get better for another 6 weeks. Well, its a little late to be awake, so with this, I sign off.
Goodnight Moon.

Typing with One Hand

so today's post will probably include lots of mistakes. this is b/c i am only able to use one hand at the moment. today, i was hanging out with my cousin carragan and showing her something while we were walking to the car, when i unknowingly stepped off a ledge. i fell and landed on my left foot while catching my fall with my right knee and left arm. i must have screamed so loud that eve you reading this could have heard me. did you? my mom and i took carragan to her basketball game where she caught up with her dad and then we headed to the emergency room. i spent an hour and a half there getting xrays and watching the flintstones on boomerang. all in all, nothing was broken even though i swear it felt as though my whole arm had fallen off at the elbow. i ended up only having bruises and slight contusions on both my ankle/foot and my arm. they wrapped them up in ace bandages and wrote me a pain killer subscription and then sent me on my way. they said that if it wasnt feeling any better in two days, then i should go see my regular doctor. well....its t-36 hours and i feel just as bad if not worse b/c the pain killers and shock have wore off. i only have a little less than 45 degrees of motion bending my elbow and i have no clue how i am going to wash my hair in the shower along with many other things for the next 36 hrs. wish me luck!

A Bright Future on the Horizon

So I am one week into my new semester of college. The girls, Kristen and Britni, spent the night at my place last night. The night was filled with laughter and really loud music! I finally felt like a college student for the first time in my life. We all got talking at Dunkin' Donuts about how it would be great to rent an apartment and all live together. There would be four of us: Jenny, Kristen, Britni, and I. We were so pumped up on sugar that we decided to look at apartments in the area online at 2:00 AM. We found some really nice places. The best bet was an apartment with 2 beds and 2 baths and each of us would pay about $150 a month. I'm so excited, I can't wait to see what the future brings.

The Day is Finally Here!

Here it is. The first day of Spring semester 2012. Right now I am sitting in Geology waiting for class to start. So I thought I would check in. I am kind of nervous today. Not sure what to expect. I have classes from 9:05 to 2pm. No break time until it is over. I guess it will be a late lunch. Well anyway. I don't have much to say right now.

Last Day of Freedom

Okay, so to day is my last day of winter break. Classes start and I'm ready! This week has been wonderful. Kristen and I walked the town square on Friday. We wore our feet out window shopping from one store to another. There is a bag at the embroidery shop that I desperately want. Maybe for my trip to St. Petersburg this summer. Then we walked down to the glassblowing store and watch a woman blow some glass. She was working on a piece with a hummingbird and a flower.
After that, we wondered on down to the Dress Up Boutique. They have the most adorable clothes ever. As my New Years resolution was to lose weight, like it always is, I plan to someday fit into their amazing clothes. If I had the money and the body, they would be the style I would enbody.

When we finished looking through all of their clothes, we wondered on over to Connie's Sandwich Shop for lunch. I ordered a hot dog and Kristen got a smoked turkey Panini.

I had such an amazing day. The best hot dogs in town!!!

Fairys Can Make Crosses Too!

There is one more day until classes start again. I am both excited and nervous. Excited because I cant wait to see everyone again. Nervous because last semester my grades weren't up to par. But I am ready to take this semester on with a new attitude. I will not procrastinate anymore and I will study more than I did before. Cockiness is not an attribute that I will inhabit.
I have signed up to take a Geology course. I am very excited for this class. I have the same professor that I had for Chemistry I and he has a sense of humor!!! Sarcasm makes things interesting. There is a field trip planned in this class. Who knew college had field trips?!?! I know I didn't! We are going to the Blue Ridge Mountains to search for fairy stones. These, if you didn't already know are minerals that grow in a formation of a cross. Natural crosses, pretty cool!

I am also taking French, Biology, and Chemistry II. This will definitely be a hard semester. But I am up for the challenge!

A First

I am really new at this. I have a friend that got me into this (thanks Sam!). She is a brilliant writer....just check out her blog titled Metaphysical_Plums. She is my inspiration and hopefully someday I am as good as her. Anyway, this is a quick entry because it is late, or early, whichever way you look at it. I am tired. Goodnight Moon!
